Six hundred at the Fourth of July picnic
The biggest crowd in Ellery's history turned out for the Fourth at the grove east of town. The band played from the wagon, the ball team beat Dodson's nine 7 to 4, and the ladies of the Lutheran Aid served dinner to all comers. The fireworks after dark were the best yet.
Around town
Hail north of town
