Eleven graduate from Ellery High
Eleven seniors received their diplomas Friday night in the new gymnasium, the largest class since the war. Valedictorian was Shirley Thomsen; salutatorian, Duane Rude. Pastor Arne Sather gave the invocation at what will be his last commencement in Ellery.
Moving away
Pastor Arne Sather, who has served Ellery Lutheran for eleven years, has accepted a call to a congregation in Minneapolis and will preach his farewell sermon Sunday. A coffee hour for Pastor and Mrs. Sather will follow the service. Until a new pastor is called, the pulpit will be filled by visiting pastors from Havre and Glasgow.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Haugen moved this week to Glasgow, where Mr. Haugen will work at the air base.
