Passenger trains no longer stop
The last passenger train to stop at Ellery came through Friday evening. Under the new national passenger service, which took over the trains on Saturday, the westbound and eastbound trains run through Ellery without stopping. The nearest stops are now Havre and Glasgow. Freight trains will still take on grain at the elevator, and the depot stays open for freight and express.
Sports
Legion ball
Ellery's Legion baseball team will hold its first practice Monday at six. Any boy fifteen to eighteen is welcome.
