Depot to close October 31
The Burlington Northern will close the Ellery depot at the end of the month. Freight and grain cars will be handled from Havre. Agent Arlo Tveit, who has kept the depot since 1962, will retire. "I'll miss the noon freight," he said. "I won't miss the wind on that platform."
The railroad has not said what will become of the building.
