Church notes
Lutheran school to close
The congregation of Ellery Lutheran voted Sunday to close the church's day school at the end of this term. Eleven children are enrolled, too few to keep a teacher. They will go to Ellery School in the fall. The school's spring program, its last, will be in the church basement Sunday evening at seven.
Around town
Planting nearly done
Most farmers around Ellery finished seeding this week, with good moisture for once. The rain gauge at the elevator showed an inch and a half for May.
